Do you have experience in lighting design for cutting-edge building developments? Are you looking for a long-term career opportunity with a rapidly expanding niche consultancy?
Light is an essential component in defining what we see, how we feel, how we interact with one another and how we interact with our environment. Light can define our experiences. Lighting design therefore is the discipline which first defines an experience and then through a measure of creativity and engineering delivers this experience.
Our client is a leading UK lighting design consultancy, looking for people to join their expanding team. We want creative designers who can invent and deliver exciting and innovative lighting solutions within all sectors of the industry. We are currently working on a wide range of national projects encompassing a variety of work sectors (including Lifestyle, Education and Residential).
We require graduate and Senior Lighting Designers to compliment our current Manchester based team.
Skills and Experience Required:
•Demonstrable previous experience working as a lighting designer and/or engineer
•Ability to deliver to a high standard creative designs which are technically sound in every aspect
•Competence in both major fields of lighting design; ‘architectural lighting design’ and ‘designing for daylight’
•Ability to present and convey ideas to clients using a variety of media
•Working knowledge of a variety of software is required, including DIALux, Relux, AutoCAD, Radiance, Paint Shop Pro or Photoshop
•Practical skills in model building would also be useful
•Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
•Ability to work as part of a team
•Good Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint etc)
Educational Requirements
•Degree qualified
•Membership/recognition by one of the main lighting bodies is preferred
